But one anniversary which is, in its own way, just as significant is 35 years of the Golf GTI, an anniversary being marked with the VW Golf GTI Edition 35, which hits UK showrooms this week after its début at Worthersee in May. BMW 1 Series dead in US after 2013

With its successor set to bow at the Detroit Auto Show in a couple of months' time, word's come down from BMW that 2013 will indeed be the end of the line for the BMW 1 Series — at least in the US. It will remain available elsewhere in the world as a three-door and five-door hatch. The coupe and convertible, meanwhile, are being replaced by the 2 Series, in convention with BMW's new naming scheme.

The Bentley Supersports is what all ‘Eco’ cars should be – madly powerful but with a green badge and it can run on E85 Bio Fuel! The Bentley Supersports manages to churn out 612bhp from its 6.0 litre, twin-turbo W12 engine, delivering the 0-60mph sprint in 3.7 seconds and on to over 200mph.
